Really? That much for a seriously half-assed, fried Lamborghini? And it’s not like it can easily be reverted back to stock because of the (alleged) internal engine modifications, which I assume are partially to lower the compression ratio and make it more boost-friendly (and strengthen it as well).
Looking at this rolling disaster makes me think that even if I had the money for some crazy car modifications I wouldn’t necessarily want to do them, assuming that this level of ‘workmanship’ is par for the course. Looking at this and then looking at something like Project Binky tells me that there are a wide range of tuners/fabricators out there. Like anything, I guess it’s a matter of looking at past work and talking to customers and not just believing a bunch of hype when wild figures (good for 1,600 HP!) are tossed around. It’ll be the best, the most glorious, unlike anything that’s been seen before - trust me! Yeah, uh huh, sure thing buddy.
This series will make for an interesting tale, that’s for sure...

In the UK you can get a relatively clean, stock Gallardo for £65k ish, which with current exchange rates isnt much more than $65k. Id pay the extra to avoid the littany of issues that car has. EDIT: I was incorrect exchange rates are much stronger than I thought, either way, still worth paying for an example that isn’t trashed.

He is going to mess that car up. Someone will have to help him fix it behind the scenes, a real mechanic directing him.

It can’t get much worse, can it?
Yeah, I expect lots of outside help on this one. Too many hinky things going on here; it’s not like his usual projects where he brings neglected vehicles back to stock condition. In this case I’d say to either go stock or go crazy - there is no middle ground.

See for £20,000 less, I’d much rather have a V10 R8.

It really seems like way too much hassle for that kind of money. When he has to start buying parts, it’s going to get expensive. Looks like decent, non botched up ones go for 90k plus, so not too much breathing room to keep it a value. Should be interesting.

When I first saw it was a Gallardo I though: “Nice find, he sure must have found a decent one at a solid price.”
Then as he started telling the story of the car I changed my mind immediately. My first step would be to strip out every single part of the twin turbo kit, anything not stock and try to save whats left of a salvaged titled Lamborghini.

Modified supercars are dumb. There, I said it.
You can push a street car because there is some slop, they are overbuilt on purpose.
This is like tuning an already-tuned race car.

the real question is: is it worth $65k in youtube views?
because a working gallardo wouldnt be very interesting, but this one has everyone all a chatter

I like the way you think.

He sure seems to have been doing a lot of homework. The videos play as if he’s going over it for the first time, but he also seems to have already looked up pricing on certain items, and have a sense of how to get to things. I’m kind of surprised to say this, but I actually have faith that he won’t go too far in over his head.

But, but... Fast’n’loud did it. That means it’s ok, right.

The next question is whether all of these mods will increase or decrease the value.

I suppose next you’ll say Street Outlaws was scripted and everything took place on closed roads in private subdivisions where the roads were almost drag strips. ;)

They even have to fake those home buying shows on hgtv. when I found that out I was like, seriously? There are so many people actually doing that!
